If you're about to invest some money in a new set of digital kitchen scales, then here are some quick pointers:
- Make sure that you can see the readout; it must be clear and easy to see. Think about the visibility of the figures if you are using a large bowl or platter to weigh ingredients.
- Check to see that the scales will weigh small quantities - if you're measuring spices, for instance, getting the wrong weight of ingredients could significantly detract from the end result. - a perfectly cooked cake or savory dish, for instance.
- Finally, make sure that the scales will be easy to keep clean. I hate digging into wee corners to remove flour or grease from the nooks and crannies.
